We use our computers to support the important research work of World Community Grid.  Initially our support was for the cancer and muscular dystrophy based projects, because my mother died of cancer at only 64 and my father suffers from muscular dystrophy.  After amassing a few million points for these projects, we recently began to support all the other projects too.

If you think there are times when your computer sits there doing nothing whilst you are busy doing something else, then why not let World Community Grid run their software on your computer?  It is only active when you are not using your computer, so you don’t really know it is there, and yet you will be contributing towards the goals of some very worthwhile projects.

Please support them if you can.

  1. Further to this post, I have created a team called

    “UK Wedding Industry”

inside the World Community Grid. So, if you are interested in allowing your computer to support these projects and would like to be amongst other UK based wedding suppliers doing the same, the following links will help (taken from the team admin page):

Encourage your friends and colleagues to help our team!

If they already participate in the World Community Grid, then use the web link below (may need to copy and paste to a web browser). All they need to do to join your team is click on the web address and then click on the join now button on the page that appears.

If they have not yet joined World Community Grid, then use the web link below (may need to copy and paste to a web browser). When they register, the team will be automatically selected for them. Let them know that they will still need to download and install the World Community Grid software.
